I have been reporting to eBird for a year and a half although Ive been a birder for decades. The app is well-designed. For me it doesnt particularly replace the web page on my iMac, but for iPhone users in the field it must be just perfect, as you can report as you bird. Highly recommended.

Love this app! Makes my bird counts quick as a snap, and then submitting to eBird painless. On the plus side: number and species entry. The default when entering observations is number (quantity) first so you enter the number of individuals observed. Add a space and then youre in text mode so you can enter the species name. If you know the 4-letter code you can enter that way as well. If you see more of the same species later you can either enter just the additional quantities the same way (and it will add the total for you) or tap on the species name and increase the quantity by one for each tap. Just a speedy process either way. The only negative for me has been the somewhat cumbersome process of entering location. And you have to do this before you can begin your count. So if Im seeing species quickly and want to document them, I have to first enter the location which could take long enough for my feeble brain to forget what I just saw. I dont know if entering the location at the end would solve this problem, or just make it more confusing for those times when you have multiple lists going. In any case, I highly recommend the app for anyone who likes to track their sightings!

I love the convenience of instantly submitting observations. Its very easy to use and enjoyable.

Easy to use, makes it more fun to see even the common species. So much better than the old BirdLog. Highly recommended!

The e-bird app saves me so much time keeping my lists in the field for me. I can upload them when i get cell or wifi service. I can edit older lists too although the iPhone isnt the best way to do that. The editing and review us best done on my iPad. This tool is invaluable to me on a daily basis. Thx.

I use this app to record bird sightings wherever I am. Easy to identify or find locations. I wish it had a few more functions that are available on the ebird website, but it is great for the purpose intended.

Love being able to enter my field sightings while still in the field. I would love it if the app also allowed selecting male, female, adult, immature like the eBird website. Most times I dont take the time to go on-line and modify my submission.

Very nice app that saves a huge amount of time over post trip data entry. Getting a checklist started is easy with the ability to locate nearby personal and public locations. Then the search feature makes tallying species easy. Would be nice if you could upload pictures from the phone with checklist submission.

This is an excellent, easy to use app for a fabulous site. I use it on a daily basis to log my bird sightings. The app makes it simple to record on my phone while traveling.

Easy to use- list is complete and good reminder

This app is great at what it does: it finds your location, downloads a checklist (if there is sufficient signal), and lets you tick off birds on the checklist. If cell service is lacking the offline checklist feature works great. However, you cant input age/sex or breeding code through the app, and once you submit a checklist you have to go through the (terribly mobile-unfriendly) eBird site to edit it.

I cant imagine a better app for birders, both serious and casual alike. The app is accurate and easy to use, allowing you to log time, date, and GPS location as well as species seen. I highly recommend this app!

My only suggestion is that Id like to see my world list in it so I dont have to go to the site.

This app improves the quality of the data and saves me time. My only wish for an improvement now is to be able to go back in and change data when I need to instead of going to the webpage

This tool is no less necessary than your favorite field guide. By consolidating and automating the listing numbering and mapping it reduces 2 hours of record keeping to 2 minutes! Its uncomplicated to the point of being self explanatory.

Very handy, convenient and useful. There is not much difference from the app it replaced which I guess was not directly related to ebird. In fact the whole format is the exactly the same. The only difference from the previous one is the ability to start a list prior to going out for those of us who do not have a cellular data plan. Before you had to start a list onsite using some recent site list or start the list at home. In either case you had to get on ebird after you got home to change the location or the time, and it was a bit of a pill. But this version does not require that because you can time it for starting later than your download.

Used the Ebird app during a trip to Panama. It was by far the best listing app I have tried out - quick to find my location, effortless to input data, and very helpful in guiding the accuracy of my recordings.
